Do you know a child who has a neurological disorder, such as Cerebral Palsy or Spina Bifida? With its proven and remarkable results in young children with neuromotor disabilities, Conductive Education® could be a benefit to that child!

Conductive Education (CE) uses an educational approach to increase independence for people with neurologically based motor disorders.

CE occurs in group settings, breaks down larger movement skills into component parts, and uses rhythmical intention to help participants gain independence.

We have various programs that are catered to our participants' needs running Monday through Saturday.

This includes an Academy of Conductive Education, which combines the principles and values of CE with the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum.

Some of the areas in which Conductive Education can help include:
 balance, breathing, and coordination
 sitting up without help
 developing hand-eye co-ordination
 establishing security and self-confidence
 learning or improving self-expression
 dealing with crowded environments
 bowel and bladder control
 verbal and non-verbal communication
 developing self-sufficiency, reducing dependence on others

To have a better understanding, come out to March of Dimes Canada's Children's Conductive Education Open House on Thursday, February 21st, 2013 from 5:00-7:30.

This open house will be a great opportunity to learn about our program, understand how our facilitation works, meet and greet with our Children's Lead Conductor, Abigail Payne, and Academy's Teacher, Lindsay Cushon.

You will also have the opportunity to learn about Toronto's one and only Academy of Conductive Education.
