My name is Anna and I'm the mother of a young child with cerebral palsy. My family and I have been adjusting to having a special need child for many years now. We've been pretty lucky, and had some great people to help out our son.
But, when it came to figuring out how to adjust all the little things in getting through your day, we pretty well figured things out on our own. There isn't any support system for families - just for the child
So we've been figuring it out as we go. There are a number of little things we created along the way to just make the day move more smoothly. When our second son came along, we realized that he was able to benefit from those things too.
I wanted to be able to provide information - quick tips and leads to information you can really use - to other families with special needs.
But, of course, I needed a way to do it that would be effective, but still reasonably priced and as easy as possible to develop and maintain. Being time starved is nothing new in our society, but when you also have to factor in extra time to do *every* single daily task, just getting through the day is exhausting.
If you're the parent or sibling of a special needs child, then you probably know what I mean. Chances are good that you don't have a lot of extra time. Or money. Believe me, we can relate.
Since I had already done a lot of work with technology in my career, having a web site seemed like an easy way to go.
I had never had a website before, but have worked with the internet and with technology development in general for a long, long time in my previous LBK (ie. Life Before Kids) I knew enough to know that it is never as easy as it looks when done. I also knew that the biggest headaches often come from trying to integrate different programs to get the result you need.
So, one of my priorities was to find something that offered a package of services. The last thing I wanted to do was always spend my time just upgrading, learning and integrating little bits and pieces of software. I really want to be able to spend my time finding good information, using it and then passing it along to others.
It took a while, but I finally found what I wanted - a package that allows me towork from home and build a website that really works for both me and for my site visitors.
It's NOT at all like a freebie blog builder or cheapo web host company that takes your money and leaves you to figure everything out on your own, and expects you to somehow just cope with ongoing changes forced upon you, and deal with security issues too.
Instead I chose to work with an online business partner that helps me build an effective on-line business, uses my time wisely, and keeps up to date on best practices.
It also provides a huge set of tools to make life easier - a must when extra attention is required for family demands.
If you're wondering how this can work for you, feel free to ask here.
Hope this helps you as much as it has helped me!

If I find good products that I think offer value and would be of interest to my site visitors, I occasionally will provide my visitors with an affiliate link.
Some (but not all) of the links on this site are to my affiliate referrals. Some of these links, esp from Amazon or Google are auto-generated, based on site content and visitor preferences. At no cost to you, an affiliate may pay me a small referral fee, which goes towards the cost and maintenance of this site.
Any recommendation or referral I offer my visitors is independent of the existence of a possible affiliate fee, and my primary goal is to provide my visitors with useful information.
