2nd Annual Montreal Special Needs Fair

by Marla Vineberg
(Montreal, Quebec, Canada)

The Montreal Special Needs Fair is increasing in popularity and rapidly becoming the area’s main forum for disability-related resources.

Our 1st Annual Montreal Special Needs Fair at the Hotel Ruby Foo’s on September 24, 2011 was a huge success. The fair has succeeded in improving the lives of Montrealers with disabilities, their families, and their caregivers.

This only one of its kind forum features a full day of cutting-edge products and services, and has become the leading event for the Montreal’s community of people with disabilities and special needs.

This Fair will present an opportunity for hundreds of attendees to discover a vast array of products and services such as: assistive and adaptive technology, durable medical equipment, computer software, mobility products, living aids and more all conveniently displayed to see, touch, and compare in a "one-stop shopping" experience.

This will give individuals who do not typically have easy access to comparison-shopping a hands-on opportunity to try devices and speak directly to equipment representatives about the products, services and resources.

The Montreal Special Needs Fair reaches out to all ages and all sectors of the special needs community including children with
special needs and disabilities, persons recovering from immobilizing accidents, individuals with chronic health concerns, individuals with mobility and spinal issues, people who have vision and hearing impairments, people with developmental disabilities and many more.

Whether your challenges are mild or severe, this is your event.

The 2nd Annual Montreal Special Needs Fair has put together an impressive line-up of exhibits, and activities to appeal to people of all ages with the full spectrum of disabilities—including physical, learning, development and sensory disabilities.

Exhibits will include special equipment vendors, educational and recreational programs, family support services, intervention assistance, therapy plans and information on financial and government agencies.

The Montreal Special Needs Fair is the biggest event of its kind on the island of Montreal! Last year’s event was a huge success; we provided almost 40 different special needs resources to the public.

Come and visit us on Thursday, September 13th at the Holiday Inn Airport, 6500 Cote de Liesse, Dorval, Quebec. The fair will be open to the public from 10 to 8 pm. Presentions with special guest speakers are planned for that day.
